Botox as a treatment option for
excessive sweating
The following drugs, applications, resources
and surgery procedures are meant as an exemple and excerpt of the current therapeutic
options against hyperhidrosis / bromhidrosis. Mode of action and side effects of these
drugs and surgical interventions are individual.
A self-medication without medical supervision is not recommended (to be attached to
commercially available antiperspirants, deodorants, or homeopathic remedies).
Therapy with botulinum toxin A -
Botulinum toxin therapy
Botolinumtoxin is an alternative to surgical procedures with potential serious side
effects. The treatment with Botolinumtoxin is often considered a good way to combat
excessive perspiration. This drug is injected directly into the skin of the area that
shows increased sweating.
The procedure is considered to be extremely effective, scientifically proven and can not
just be applied under the armpits, but also on the head and neck, hands and feet.
The disadvantage is that the effect is limited in time. Also the high price and pain you'd
have to bear.....I would not say that this treatment option is the best against excessive
sweating. A repetition would also be required soon, so you have to do it ongoing.
